Sterility and ease of cleaning – lights equipped with a dual-function sterile handle allow for adjustment of key parameters without leaving the sterile area. The lamp housing should be made of lightweight aluminum alloys and have a smooth surface without gaps or recesses, making cleaning much easier.
Ergonomy – surgical lights should be equipped with additional non-sterile handles for easy maneuvering and positioning. Additional control options using gestures or wireless footswitches can increase the surgical team’s comfort. Lighting parameters – light intensity of up to 160,000 lx and CRI (Ra) and R9 color rendering indexes ranging from 95% to 100% – guarantee visibility and faithful tissue color reproduction, which is essential during complex procedures. All this is in accordance with the PN-EN 60601-2-41 standard, a key document regulating the technical and safety parameters of lamps used in operating rooms, including minimum light intensity, color rendering index, and emergency power requirements.
Integration with hospital systems – modern lamps are increasingly becoming part of integrated systems, enabling the recording and archiving of procedures – photographs and video recordings from a camera installed in the operating lamp housing.
